Cellphones, A Hazardous Convenience?

The jury is out on the longterm effect of cellphone use on kids. Recent research by the nonprofit Environmental Working Group states that the link between radiation from cellphones to cancers of the brain, neck, and head are troubling.   The results are inconclusive but should give parents pause when considering the amount of time a child has access to a cellphone.  The following are some good guidelines for all of us:

Save cellphones for short conversations and use a landline as a first choice

Use hands-free devices or speaker feature when possible

Monitor and limit your child’s time on a cellphone

Buy models with low SAR ratings(SAR # is provided by the manufacturer)
